Philipp obtained his PhD from Harvard University for work in the group of Markus Greiner. From 2016 to 2021, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Selim Jochim at Heidelberg University. He joined MPQ in September 2021.

Philipp leads the Atomic Quantum Matter group and is the project leader of FermiQP.

Naman Jain

Graduate student

Naman did his undergraduate work at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology. For his Masters, he worked at the Cryogenic Storage Ring at MPIK, Heidelberg, studying the quantum dynamics of cold diatomic molecular ions. Later, he worked on a space-based rubidium atomic frequency standard at the Indian Space Research Organisation.

Naman joined the group in October 2021.

Daniel Dux

Master student

Daniel is pursuing a Masters of Science in Physics degree at Heidelberg University, where he previously worked in Selim Jochim’s lab. He joins the UniRand project as an external Master student.

Daniel joined the group in September 2022.

Jin Zhang

Graduate student

Jin did his Master’s at the University of Wisconsin Madison, working with Mark Saffman on a dual-species grating MOT and toward a neutral atom quantum network.

Jin joined the group in October 2022.

Xinyi Huang

Research assistant

Xinyi is a student in the QST Masters program at LMU and has been working in the group since January 2023.

Gaurav Vaidya
